Hank is an enrolled agent (EA), which is defined as a federally-authorized tax practitioner who has technical expertise in the field of taxation and who is empowered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. As an EA, Hank advises, represents, and prepares tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts, and any entities with tax-reporting requirements as well as effectively represents taxpayers audited by the IRS or Florida Department of Revenue. This enrollment makes Hank part of a select few who can represent clients in all fifty states before all levels of the Internal Revenue Service.
Prior to joining the firm, Hank spent 21 years working with the Miami-Dade County Clerk of Courts. Ten of those years were spent in supervisory and managerial positions. During this time, his experiences taught him the intricacies of the legal system and how the law is applied when dealing and negotiating with government agencies.
Hank is currently a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Florida Society of Enrolled Agents (FSA).
Ed has been practicing as a tax accountant and financial advisor for over thirty years to small and medium sized businesses and individuals. He has built Associated Tax Consultants into a vibrant and fast growing medium sized accounting firm that services hundreds of small and medium sized businesses, along with many individual clients in South Florida, by providing accounting, financial management, tax planning, insurance, estate planning, bankruptcy planning, and many other services. In addition to over thirty years of public accounting experience, Ed also has senior level Corporate and Entrepreneurial experience.
Ed is licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as an Enrolled Agent. He provides financial services through his Securities (Series 6, 63 and 66), Insurance and Annuity licenses. He is also a licensed mortgage and real estate broker and has consummated several acquisitions. And with his computer interests, Ed has helped many clients into the computer age, and is a QuickBooks Pro Advisor.
Currently, Ed is a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), Broward Chapter of Enrolled Agents, and The National Society of Tax Professionals (NSTP). In addition Ed is a past member of The National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) and Past President of the Florida Accountants Society - Dade Chapter.
Outside of the office, Ed enjoys racquetball, gardening, computers, carpentry and walking. In his younger years, he served four years in the Air Force, was active in National Boxing Association in Florida and New York. He earned a Bachelor's degree from the Florida International University (FIU) with a double major in Accounting and Management with Minor in Teaching.
